Natura Siberica has developed a unique and purely organic line of cosmetics made from wild herbs, berries, grasses and plants from Siberia and the Far East. These natural ingredients have particularly strong properties, so they survived the Ice Age and are able to adapt to extreme weather conditions even in today's cold Siberian winters (down to -50 ° C).
All wild herbs, berries, grasses and plants are harvested by hand by the locals. This happens when the plant or herb contains the highest concentration of valuable, nutritious and biologically active ingredients. In addition, care is taken to process the harvest as quickly as possible, which means that the highest possible concentration of ingredients is maintained and the extracts that Natura Siberica uses in its cosmetics are particularly powerful and effective.
At least 95% of all ingredients in the various products are of vegetable origin and rich in unsaturated fatty acids, minerals, essential amino acids, antioxidants and vitamins C and E.
All products are free from synthetic preservatives, mineral oils, silicones, parabens, SLS, SLES and of course the products are not tested on animals!
The purity of the recipes is guaranteed by European certificates from ECO BIO Cosmetics ECOCERT and ICEA. In addition, it is approved according to the COSMOS standard AISBL3.
ECOCERT
ECOCERT is the trademark of an inspection and certification service based in France. ECOCERT was the first certification body to develop standards for natural and organic cosmetics. ECOCERT checks the production lines twice a year to determine whether they meet the requirements of the strict ECOCERT standards.
The most important ECOCERT standards must be that the ingredients used for the products come from sustainable sources and have been produced using environmentally friendly production processes. ECOCERT therefore checks whether GMOs, parabens, phenoxyethanol, nanoparticles, silicones, PEG, synthetic perfumes and dyes as well as animal ingredients are present.
This means, among other things, that organic ingredients must meet the following ECOCERT requirements:
Plant seeds must not be genetically modified.
Chemical fertilizers must not be used.
Pesticides must not be used. Pest control has been carried out with the help of natural enemies or non-toxic alternatives approved by ECOCERT.
Products are manufactured and stored in environmentally friendly rooms.
In addition, a cosmetic product only receives the ECOCERT quality mark if the product contains a minimum content of natural ingredients from organic farming. Specifically, this means that 95% of all herbal ingredients in the formula and at least 10% of all ingredients by weight must come from organic farming.
ICEA
The ICEA is the most important certification body for natural cosmetics in Italy. The Italian Association for Organic Agriculture (AIAB) and the Certification Institute for Environment and Ethics (ICEA) have developed guidelines for natural and organic cosmetics together with a group of manufacturers. Cosmetics that meet the strict requirements of this certification body are given organic status. All phases of the production process are checked:
No artificial additives and no use of genetic engineering during the production process.
Everything related to waste, energy, transport and hygiene is strictly regulated.
Production and storage follow strict ecological rules.
ICEA controls are also carried out at the production sites themselves several times a year.
